Some Photos of a Beautiful Butterfly

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

I met this little guy (or girl) while out walking the other day. It's a Red Admiral butterfly. Red Admirals migrate here to Ireland at the start of the summer and are commonly seen in the hedgerows at this time of year.

This one's wings looked a little bit faded, but were still beautiful.

It stopped to feed on some blackberry blossoms and I was able to see the underside of its wings. I love the marbled appearance under there. I think it's almost prettier than the top of the wings.

What kind of butterflies do you have where you live? I love all insects, but particularly bees and butterflies. I'd love to see more of them :)

Beautiful!

Very nice pics! Seems to me I can never get them to hold still long enough to get decent shots. :) I'll have to look back and see what I can find.
