Seorang ahli ibadah meninggal. Ketika ditimbang apakah ia masuk surga atau neraka ia berkata, "masukkan aku ke dalam surga karena amalanku"
Maka Allah meminta malaikat menimbang amalannya dan di ambillah 1 buah matanya. Ternyata 1 buah mata dia lebih berat timbangannya dari amalannya. Padahal ia telah beribadah selama ratusan tahun tanpa henti, tapi amalan tersebut tidak sanggup untuk membayar 1 buah matanya.
Allahpun bertanya, "bagaimana aku bisa memasukkanmu ke dalam surga jika amalanmu saja tidak sanggup untuk membayar 1 buah mata yang kuberikan untukmu"
Ahli ibadah inipun menangis dan menyadari, betapa sombongnya ia dengan amalan amalan yang telah ia lakukan. Seketika itu juga ia berkata dalam tangisnya, "ya Allah, masukkan hamba ke dalam surgaMu dari RahmatMu ya Allah"
Kita hidup itu karena rahmat Allah. Bahkan kita masuk surga karena rahmat Allah. Maka jangan pernah lelah meminta rahmat dari Allah.
