This fort was built by Rao Jodha the fifteenth Rathore Ruler. According to legend to built this fort Rao Jodha has to displace the sole human occupant of the hill , a hermit called as Cheeria Nathji , the lord of birds. Upset at being forced to leave the place , he cursed Rao Jodha with “ Jodha , May your citadel ever suffer from scarcity of water !” Rao Jodha managed to please the hermit by giving him house and a temple near the cave , where he used to do meditation. He also buried a man called Raja Ram Meghwal alive to cure the curse. but even today the area is suffered by scarcity of water. Raja Ram Meghwal was promised that his family would be looked after by Rao Jodha. Till today His descendants live in Ram Bagh ( garden ) a property given by Rathores.79CF846A-70BD-4ED2-BF12-11155C354D97.jpeg
