Planty Park - Krakow, Poland

Planty Park is one of the largest city parks in Krakow, and encircles the old town, where the cities medieval walls once stood. The park spans 21,000 square metres, and is 4 kilometres long. Different parts of the garden are decorated in different styles, and feature many water fountains, and monuments, such as the Grazyna Monument, which depicts the famous poem by Adam Mickiewicz.

While most of the medieval wall was pulled down in the 19th century, some of the old fortifications were preserved, such as the Florian Gate.
