RE: need help with lightroom problem

Your photo is not ruined. Just uncheck the small square in the left corner under the Histogram tab. It only shows you where your photo have "dead pixels" (underexposed). Which is quite normal in difficult lightning situations like on your photos. :)

Lightscapes is right.
Lightroom is displaying the Underexposed parts of images. Uncheck that box... all will be well.

When you are in Develop mode, if you take the Black (or white) slider, and hold the OPTION key down, you can see that when making changes. It helps for making some adjustments.

I'll try that as well tomorrow. Thank you SO much!

That video was very informative. Thank you. I've subscribed to that youtube channel. I really appreciate your help.

There's some good Lightroom and Photoshop stuff there!

Hurray!!!! I will have to try that on my other computer.....I'll let you know if that worked. Thank you soooo much!

No problem :)

What an obvious fix....lol. I opened LR this morning and that little histogram triangle was highlighted....how the heck did I miss that cue. Thanks again, for wandering into the discussion to help. Greatly appreciated.
