Steemit Travel Blog - Photos from Hawaii Beach in Croatia of a Model from Slovenia :)

I reached out to a few people/models before my trip to Italy and Croatia. I was asked why I sometimes shoot people without getting paid; my answer is simple, "Because I have to."

Yes I'm photographer, but that doesn't mean that every shoot has to be for pay. It's like a musician doesn't have to get paid every time he wants to jam with his friends.

Irena and Kaya drove from Slovenia to meet me along the coast of Porec, Croatia where I have been staying for the past week. I asked them if there were sharks in the Adriatic Sea and Irena said no. Then she said, "Well, recently we have some big sharks ... they must be from US." She was totally kidding but it was just funny.

We drove to a remote beach just north of Porec named Hawaii Beach. The coast here is mostly rock which makes for some interesting photos. When we arrived there were a lot more cars than I expected; I guess we are at the height of their tourist season. Germans, Russians, Croatians and Italians are everywhere. Wild.

As we walked along the beach to find a more remote area we had to walk past group of nudists. Unfortunately these weren't worthy of taking photos. Nothing against beach goers that are running around naked, but it's a bit weird for me. Even the girls from Slovenia were like, "they just don't give a shit." They were super funny.

Irena isn't a professional model, it's just a hobby. Something fun to do and gives her an excuse to get out and do something fun. Collaborating like this is fun and meeting someone for the first time because of the camera gives the reason to meet new people. It's part of the reason I love photography.

In post processing I may have gone a little crazy with the colors. What do you think?

Today is my last day in Croatia, tomorrow I wake up super early for the ferry to Venice. Bummed I'm leaving this chilled out country.

Next stop Venice, Italy where I have a shoot with Chiara, the Italian model/actress. Stoked!!!

It can be seen she's not a professional model @lightenup. She definitely need some guidance from the photographer. Upvoted

I have been shooting almost daily the past few weeks whether its for work or for play. I haven't been doing that much experimenting as just experiencing. Letting the camera give you a reason to do something different.

The first pic is absolutely mesmerizing with its colours :) Did you tweak it afterwards on your computer? Never heard of Porec but I see it's close to Pula, where i'll be in two weeks, maybe i'll give it a try :)

I especially liked the hillside towns (wine country). But the beaches here are clean. The water is crystal clear and I have heard that other parts aren't as clean. Not sure sure why. I missed Pula this trip, I wanted to explore the Roman ruins.

:) Cool! Yeah, I really want to see the Roman circus in Pula and the ruins of Diocletian's palace in Split :)

great shot and so much beautiful Slovenia model..the spot is such an enjoyable place..really love it

Loved these can't wait to see the ones from Italy!!!!

She may not be a pro model, but you manage to get some very good portraits @lightenup. Upvoted, resteemed & DPS.

Please state clearly how would you like to be featured in the “Daily Photo Selection”: with a linked photo, or with link only without a photo. We are making a list of photographers who are ready to improve the visibility of their work through the DPS. Thank you.

I love your post and your way of seeing the "art" do not necessarily have to pay for you to take a good photo very well for that. I'm going to follow a huge hug from Colombia, come and take photos to this beautiful country you will not regret

I love this last shot. that Hair and there's something mischievous about her tiny smirk as well. nice work!
