When some people see Kentucky they see this. (My first photography-ish post!!! 13 photos included)

in #photography8 years ago (edited)

Okay, I'm sure a lot of people think of Banjos and fried chicken when they think of Kentucky. To be honest that wouldn't be completely incorrect, but I'm here to show you some of the beauty I found in my home state while driving through. So let's take a short photographic journey of some of the photos I thought were the most interesting.

First let's knock out out the cliche hillbilly picture. To me the coolest part of this picture is the seahorse on the car. I thought that was funny.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way let's take a look at the heart of Kentucky horse country.

Of course I couldn't go without a couple shots showcasing our rich bourbon heritage.

And finally a couple shots of Kentucky's mountains to the south.

I took all of these pictures with my iPhone. Nothing has any post editing. Let me know how what rookie mistakes I made photography people!!! I had a lot of fun taking them. I hope you enjoyed them. Let me know what your favorites were in the comment section below!

I really like your photos and the ones with foreground in focus are special. I also like the angle from which the tray drinks was taken! UPVOTED!

@kus-knee (The Old Dog)

Thanks! I don't know anything about photography but I am starting to like it. Hopefully my earnings on SteemIt will help me buy a legitimate camera.

wow great photos!

Thanks man! Any favorites?

Yea man I really love the two kettles. Are they made out of brass?

They are actually copper pot stills made in Scotland.

Wow! Nice place.

A very nice photo tour! Thanks.

Thank you for stopping by. I like your work as well.

Kentucky is really nice! We used to drive from Indiana to Florida every year and we would eat at Shoney's!

Next time you go through we're going to have to get you into a real restaurant lol.

Stunning shots. You have a great eye for composition.

I appreciate that sir! I can only go up from here.

Welcome back!

Thanks! I missed my SteemIt friends. And you. Kind of.

Cool post dude, lovin them bourbon barrels. Glad to see you back!!!

Thanks man glad to be here! Saw this along the way as well. We use stills from Scotland. Well the better distilleries do at least. I even tried the Kentucky version of a single malt. It was great.

Holy crap man, check that out. I totally didn't know that. Excellent stuff!

Welcome back @kryptik!
Love your post, especially the 'down the road' shot, it just grabs me.

So, you really just went to Kentucky for the bourbon right? Rofl

I mean it definitely came into play ;)

Excellent photos! Thanks. Loved the horses in particular. And I can't believe those are just with your iPhone. The last two are a bit dark but the rest are great.

Yeah the last two started to get a little noise because of the darkness of the evening. Thank you though! I can't wait to see what I'll be able to do with a real camera.

Nice pics, but wheres the moonshine still? In all honesty, if you've never been to Kentucky, you're missing out on a hidden gem.

You should know man, we hide those in the woods. Lol
