Tour of St. Petersburg, Russia. #2

in #photography7 years ago

Hello Steemians, what's up? What are you doing?

In the winter, of course, St. Petersburg is not as beautiful as the summer, but still the buildings retain their beauty even in such cold and snowy weather.
I do not like to take photographs in winter because closer to spring, all the snow starts to melt on the streets, and it's not a road made of snow, but a road made of sand and dirt.
All the snow turns into a viscous puddle with a lot of dirt, and it's generally not beautiful.

So it turns out because when it's pretty cold in St. Petersburg, the snow freezes and turns into one solid ice rink, and they slip and fall, while breaking a leg or arm is not a problem.
Therefore, roads, where people walk, it is customary to sprinkle with special sand with chemical properties.
This sand spoils the shoes, and after the ice breaks, then a lot of dirt turns out.
This time and this outcome of winter we call slush (слякоть-slyakot')

But let's not talk about sad things.
When I was walking in the center of St. Petersburg, I did many different photos.
And I want to show you four more of them.

In this photo you can clearly see the consequences on the roads after snow.
This is the same sand. The snow melts, and he stays, and very much spoils his shoes

I hope, that soon I will be able to make more beautiful photos for you.
In the meantime, I'm slowly testing a new camera and its capabilities.

Despite all the bad that the snow brings, the photos were very beautiful. They look like postcards. The angles are amazing.

Saint Petersburg is a very young city compared to the old European capitals and, perhaps, the only city in the world that has gained so much historical significance in such a short time. Founded in 1703 as a way out to sea, which is essential for Russia's future development in terms of strategic and economic. Saint Petersburg is considered a «key to heaven» to the Russian Empire, so the name of the city is very symbolic: it is called to honor St. Peter, who, as we know from the Bible, is the key keeper of heaven Saint Petersburg today is one of the cultural cities, scientific and industrial sectors in Russia, accommodating several hundred museums and exhibition halls. Great Russian and foreign artists, poets.

Beauty remains beauty so i trust its still beautiful

I told you it's interesting and useful to walk around the city with a camera. Fresh air and new impressions add strength and creative plans. It's good and everything has been done by you.

Yes, we are waiting for the slush period soon. In the meantime, we enjoy the beauty of the Hermitage.
