How different is the east than the west? Coming from a western country, the Netherlands, myself Beijing has been full of new experiences for me so far. Just by walking over the streets of Beijing you will face many different scenes which you would never expect to see back home. With Beijing being only one city in one country, I can only image how much for there is to explore throughout Asia.

The people look really interesting. I'm noticing a few face masks, is the pollution really bad?
You definetly notice it. I have heared that it is a lot worse during winter when they fire up the coal plants to produce heat. If you live here I would probably also wear a mask, but mt short stay will not matter to much
