When I took the photos for my post Simplicity at the Lake / Einfachheit am See on January 1st of this year, I had to stop in Pörtschach and take once more pictures of the beautiful boathouse. | Als ich am 1. Actually, I was hoping that the sun would rise behind the boathouse in the east, but I think it looks quite good with this dense fog around. | Eigentlich hatte ich gehofft, dass gerade dann die Sonne im Osten hinter dem Bootshaus aufgehen würde, aber ich denke, mit diesem dichten Nebel schaut es auch ganz gut aus. |

Photo 52 Challenge
At the beginning of 2020 I became aware of a new photo challenge. @wwwiebe started the project "Photo 52" and created the Steem Account @photo52. The contest defines a topic for each week of the year that runs for 7 days. The rules are simple and are announced every Wednesday on @photo52 with the post of new theme of the week. I didn't have the right photos for the first two weeks, but the topic this week is white and I remembered that I had photographed the white boathouse in the fog in Pörtschach. That is the picture I like the best, I love the hazy/fog around it, just enough light to make out the reflection on the water. It is a very tranquil looking scene, the lifted fog shot, while the reflection may be more pronounced, and is a very fine shot, it does not convey that feeling of tranquility like the first one.
Actually, I like the last shot most - the first is too "flat" for me, but that's the great thing about photography and all art - one likes something that the next one even might hate 😉

In Summer the sun rises about behind the boat house and I have seen some really nice photos from it :)
Nowadays the buildings are still there sometimes, but it is all just like on a normal beach with areas where people can sunbathe, children can play and you can go swimming.I have found a Wikipedia article about bath houses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_bathing
This bath house belongs to the villa which would be on the left side. The boat has it's garage on the first floor and the people can enjoy nice sunny days on the second floor and go downstairs for a swim.
I hope my explanations are somehow understandable, but otherwise the Wikipedia article might help better 😉

Das Badehaus gehört zu den kleinen Juwelen am See und wurde schon so oft fotografiert. Ich habe es vor ein paar Monaten zum ersten Mal fotografiert, werde aber immer wieder mal ein paar Fotos machen, wenn ich vorbeifahre. Vielleicht gelingt mir einmal ein schönes Sonnenaufgangsbild, weil die Sonne in den Sommermonaten ziemlich dahinter aufgehen sollte.

Those are really great shots sir johannpiber, that boat house against the fog makes a spectacular photo! Does anyone live there?

Second: No, no one lives in there - on the first floor is the garage for a boat and on the second floor there is just a room and a terrace. The owners live in a villa nearby.

Those photos are super great sir johannpiber and that would be a very interesting house to live in if that was possible.
I don't think that you would have enough space - there's only one room and the house is not isolated at all, but over all, there's no toilet ;) lol
A !BEER has to be cold to taste good 😉
Oh well forget that then! lol. That would not work, so it's mostly designed to store the boat there obviously.
To store the boat and have partys or just nice days at the lake, I think. This house is quite old and in these times many villas have had such bath houses at the lake.
