I don't know, why there are so many churches, maybe because in the old times more people went to church more often and every big or small village needed at least one church ;)
A good cooked Lasagna is a very delicious food.

@johannpiber I guess each family had its own church. I noticed churches where 20-50 fit in. The people must have been rich in those days. We hardly have churches left and they are used as shops, art galleries or to live in. ❤️
The villages have been smaller then and there haven't been so many people. The church was rich, but not the people, although they built the churches for the church.

Very true about the churches. In generations past the church was the center and foundational core the village, serving both the spiritual needs and acting as the social and cultural meeting place.
