Before we have had our children I didn't really care about working times and did the same as you have been doing, but when they arrived in our life I started to still begin early, but leave work as early as possible. Now, they wouldn't mind if nobody is at home when they come home, but I have become so used of coming home early, that the afternoons at work are so hard when I stay longer sometimes 😉
To give a !DERANGED and a !BEER is an easy and simple way for me to say thank you for being nice, and giving an additional !MARLIANS or !COFFEEA means I thank you even more 😉
Thats good that you changed with the children its very important I think, I did similar when my girls where young, then when I got divorced for a decade or so I drowned myself in work again
but then eventually got a good life balance

Yes, I think so too - even when I have been working at home on photos or websites I have at least been at home and with my children, and I have always had time form them when they needed me.
You can never bring back the time you miss when they are young.
