RE: Sunshine on a gray day / Sonnenschein an einem grauen Tag

I do not know the Netherlands and their farms, but I would suggest you to make holidays on an Austrian farm to see the difference.

Our Bio chicken live outside, but they have to stay in the chicken coop over night, because of the foxes, and even now in December the cows go still outside during the day.
This is one side, but the other one are egg farms and meat farms, just as you said. They still exist, of course, and as long as the people buy the cheap meat they will exist.

Have a nice Sunday @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber it is not about the cheap meat only. Neither the costs for the animals. You can not have these farms everywhere people don't like it plus the chance/risks of diseases increases. The taxes are sky high. The Dutch government wants to buy out most farmers. Instead of "smelly" animals we will have smelly people. I hardly eat meat and only know with us it is extremely expensive and you mainly buy water. Shopping in Germany saves a lot money.
Who knows I can visit such a farm once. For now I only drive to Austria or sleep on a parking lot in my car. ❤️

You see me speechless ... ok, you don't see me, but you might be able to imagine me sitting here with an open mouth and don't know what to say.
A lot must have changed since I was last in the Netherlands, but that has been in the eighties ;)
So, because I have no idea what I could reply - living in the Netherlands must have become horrible - all I can say is I wish you a great day @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber I think it depends on where you live. I am happy I no longer live in Rotterdam or Amsterdam and my children not grew up in these cities. If you are rich you might have a better place to live where you are not confronted with the life outside.
Happy day.

That doesn't sound good - I have such a different country in my memories and I have never heard of any of the things you are telling, but I suppose such things won't get public easily.

Have a great day anyway @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber Your memory is 30 years old plus we remember what we like to remember or like to see. My memory of 30 years ago and 40 years ago is different too and I still do not understand what happened with all those kind helpful people I lived in between for years who hate me now and spit on me, scold at me and molested my children. Societies change.I can remember as I was a child it was normal to have a poster of the party you voted on during the elections behind your window. If you do that now there is always a group or someone who beats you up. 🤔

The world has changed and people have changed too, @wakeupkitty. And sadly, much has changed to the bad, like the things you are telling me.

What I do miss most at the behaviour of people is Respect. There's no respect anymore, and that is very sad, because that was one important thing we have learned when we were young. And I don't mean to respect the elder, I mean respect in general. There's so much ignorance and hate these days, that I am glad when the weather is fine and I can go somewhere where I can be alone.

Have a great day @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber I think the lack of respect is a world wide problem. I do not know when it started or what caused it. Perhaps envy but governments and media play a big role in it. You are not free to discover and make your own opinion. I stopped watching tv years ago. Year's it over 10, perhaps even 15 years. I seldom listen to the radio (only on a long drive and to stay awake), the last time I read a paper newspaper is even longer ago. If I read headlines the newspapers use these days I feel miserable. The world is a better place without media and people. That is the main reason we seldom visit anyone, stay home and live far away from other people.

I do not think the world will change. It will get worse and the attitude is to blame the generation before. For long media, government brainwashed generations baby boomer (born 1945-1955) consume all social help, have all benefits, etc. Now "suddenly" turns out this is not the case at all. So the big mouths who wants those who rebuild the country, the economy after the war dead turn out to be the lazy pigs with most benefits themselves. Not that it will change anything since the years of brainwashing already did their job. The same it does with so many things.
