I don't know how they measure the hiking times, but I think it is as you say.
No, the cross it not lit at night. Almost every mountain peak has a cross - it would look quite funny, if they all were lit up at night 😉

Me neither. I mean they are smart if they come to Austria to visit because it is very scenic country (with great beer) but tourists also tend to be a little deranged. lol.
