My Photoshoot in Laguna Beach with Playboy Playmate — Jessica Burciaga

in #photography7 years ago

Today's Behind the Photo post features someone that needs no introduction. Her name is Jessica Burciaga. Burciaga, in my opinion, is an OG when it comes to social media, modeling, beauty, make up, etc. In all fairness, she's your favorite model's favorite model. And as humble as she is, you would never know it by talking to her.

You may have seen her on social media, in photo's, music videos, magazines, and so on, but not many people actually get to spend time with her and talk to her on a personal level and see who she is as a person. For what she's done and accomplished, she's extremely down to earth and she's fun to be around.

Despite having a type of bond that's hard to explain, we haven't seen each other in awhile. I decided to reach out to her and we met in Laguna for a few drinks (and food of course) and shot at the beach during sunset. The shoot was completely random. We walked until we found some place cool, waited for the right light in the sky and started snappin away. While we were shooting neither one of us thought we were getting anything worth while. We had walked pretty far on the beach and we hit a dead end. The sun was setting and we ran out of location options. We had to work with what we had in a short amount of time.

As you can see from the photo's below, we were in the same spot most of the time but we managed to shoot from several different perspectives. In the sand, against the rock wall, in the water, on the stairs facing a mansion, on the stairs facing the water, etc. I respect her time and her schedule and in the back of my mind, I had to get something worth it. She told me how many times she turns down shoots and that she hasn't shot with anyone in a long time unless it was for her clothing line. Even though we're friends and this was for fun, I put pressure on myself to come away with something.

The sunset didn't last that long but it lasted long enough to get some pretty decent shots. It's always fun working with someone who is as experienced as Jessica. She know's what she's doing, she knows her poses, knows what looks good and handles her own. No maintenance required is always a plus.

Here are some of the photos we came away with. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
