Itsukushima Torii Gate is a must visit if you are visiting Japan. You can see the gate when it is high and low tides.
When it is at low tide, you can actually walk all the way up to the gate!
This is also my entry for @juliank contest for landscapephotography.

I love this place. I went during low tide amd walked up to it amd around the area - hope to canoe in high tide on my next journey there
canoe? can you actually do that? i haven't seen anyone doing that before
