In the winter they repair the wooden paths and bridges. They look if any rocks are loose on the rockfaces and repair these too.
I don't think, they open in winter, because in wintertime there are not so many tourists there either.
I think that would be a fun job except for the cold! you guys are cold over there! But still I think that would be interesting. Especially with no stupid tourists around!
In the cold we have hats and gloves and thick pullovers ;)
I think, I'll try another visit at the end of September or maybe in October, because the Autumn colors of the trees might be better in October.
A big gate would be an idea, @janton, but not needed. When I have been there a few months ago, the gate was still closed:

Of course you could find a way to pass this gate, and I am sure, many people do so, but I don't ;)
