wow, colder than Minnesota! Is the country fairly poor as far as the population? I think I read that they were one of the ones with massive debt problems too. What kind of hoops do you have to jump through for to work there?

The temperature is colder in MN, but we have central heating, fireplaces, and winter clothes.
Spain does have its share of financial trouble, but the cost of living is a more less than here and healthcare is covered through taxes. The public transportation is also very usable, so having a car is pretty optional.
Getting a work visa involves having a company formally offer you work, but it has to be something that a local can't do. That makes things very difficult, especially since citizens of any EU country don't need a visa.

Yes, Spain is part of the EU. I have quite a few friends there and a lot of job seeking seems to be word-of-mouth. That might help, in the end. A lot of places will do online interviews, at least for a first interview.
Of course, the other option is to have about $500k to invest in real estate or a small business. Then there's the "Have over a million dollars and get a retiree visa" option. Neither of thoose are likely, unless the price of Steem hits about $1,000... lol
