I don't usually post food photography, the main reasons being that I don't think I have the right gear for that, and the other because I think I am absolutely dreadful at this. Of course, the first reason is only a pretext, and I use it heavily as the cause of the second reason as all artists do.
Jokes aside, this bowl of rice with sashimi, I think it turned out pretty well. Just looking at it makes me salivate, so it works well at least on me! In fact, I hope to finish this post faster than my usual posts, in order to just stop drooling.
The bowl was ordered by my wife, but she is always very happy to share (also always requests that I share a bite of what I eat of course!).
And I had this:
Not bad, right?
Also, of course we ate multiple time sushi while in Japan, but I particularly remember this one because I had never eaten one of them: the third one, that kind of looks like it has a tiger skin. Now, maybe I did ate it before, but since I don't know what it is... Maybe someone could help? 😉
Where were those artsy pictures taken you ask?
It was in Hiroshima, in a restaurant situated on the last floor of a shopping mall. I could not remember its name, but looking at the map, I was able to track down the path we've taken that day, and I am very confident it was in AQA広島センター街. There is even a map of the floor on the website, and pictures of meals of each restaurant, but I still can't tell which one it was.
Anyway, it was as good as it looks like on the picture, but you'll have to trust me on this 😋
Now that I am done, I can stop drooling. Good times!
That bowl... hungry
I miss Tsukiji Market, Ameyoko, frankly just Japan!
You can get a good bowl of sashimi rice anywhere in this country.
Agreed! And what's even better, it's always top quality and most of the time, cheap eith regard to quality!
