I captured this image during one of my visits to the Queen Mary which is now docked in Long Beach, CA. I happened to be walking by and noticed a port hole with the window wide opened. It looked out into downtown Long Beach and just totally struck me.
The Queen Mary started to sail the North Atlantic Ocean between 1936 and 1967 and was meant originally to be a weekly express ship for passengers between New York and Cherbourg. During WWII though the Queen Mary was converted into a troopship and ferried Allied Soldiers!
It's crazy to think how many people throughout history in all different walks of life have looked through this same port hole.
