This past spring, we visited Wrangell, Alaska for a month while we did maintenance on our sailboat. Taking a break from work one evening, we drove to the beach to enjoy the the most glorious sunset I have ever experienced. The violet and fuchsia colors intensified after we left, and I regret not having captured the progression. By the time we reached the harbor again, the colors had faded away...

I would say it is indeed beautiful, but the two times I've been there have been for work! Perhaps someday I'll just go for a fun trip :)
