Pewnej nocy nie mogąc spać wybrałem się w teren, żeby oczyścić głowę z niepotrzebnego bałaganu i przy okazji zrobić jakieś zdjęcia. Zdecydowałem się w końcu na fotografię szlaków gwiazd, którą od dłuższego czasu chciałem spróbować. Wybrałem prostszą z dwóch metod wykorzystywanych do tego typu zdjęć, czyli pojedynczą ekspozycję na małej czułości ISO, ale z bardzo długim czasem naświetlania. Innym sposobem na uzyskanie szlaku gwiazd są wielokrotne, znacznie krótsze ekspozycje, które następnie są łączone w jeden obraz. Tej techniki jednak jeszcze nie próbowałem. Wymaga znacznie więcej czasu poświęconego przy post-produkcji, ale daje też lepsze rezultaty. Mam w planach podejść do tego tematu w przyszłości.

One night, unable to sleep, I went out into the field to clear my head of unnecessary clutter and take some photos. I finally decided on star trail photography, something I'd been wanting to try for a while. I chose the simpler of the two methods used for this type of photography: a single exposure at a low ISO but with a very long exposure time. Another way to create a star trail is to take multiple, much shorter exposures, which are then combined into a single image. I haven't tried this technique yet, though. It requires significantly more time in post-production, but it also yields better results. I plan to explore this topic in the future.
