Behind The Lens

Location
JOJO.jpg
Actually this shoot was planned very well before the date of the shoot, and the concept was to take the closeup portrait of this amazing model by the name of the Modeljojo. I took a trip up to COCO Beach that located in Daresalaam, Tanzania, this beach its so famous, people used to hangout and enjoy there. so to make a long story shot i took this shot around BEACH.

Time

This's probably one of my favorite photo that i got during the shoot, i remember taking a Bodaboda(motorbyce) it was around 3:00pm up to there where we have already planned to meet with a model. It was 4:00pm right at the coco beach which is located in daresalaam, Tanzania. It was one of my best evening i can remember because i was first back into photography, after a long time of losing all of my gear and finnaly i was hold my new nikon camera again on my hand and i was about to test it. This was taken 23/July/2019 at 4:55PM

Lighting

Actually about lighting, someone on the internet the Famous Natural light photographer by the name of Dani Diamond he used to inspire me a lot and that is where i got an inspiration to go out and shoot by using available light as possible. He used to say we have given a Natural light by God and as a photographer we have to find a means of using the light to our benefits. As you look to my all around portifolio on my social media i love Dramatic images the images that have half light and shadow.
Equipment
This was shot on Nikon D800 with Yongnuo 50mm f1.8 only

Inspiration

As i said early the inspiration come from Dani Dimond the guy who shoot by using a Natural light only! but also on my side i was looking the place that has rocks and there where i discover to go out to the beach, actually i was alone at that momment i had no clue that the model will come along side her friend, and i used him as my assintant by helping me caring the bags and so on.

Editing

Yes, I ussually go into post production after the shoot, i nomarlly use Adobe lightroom to color correct my images and after that i export the image into adobe photoshop for doing some skin retouch and color grade. thats all the process i use till the final image comes to the public (social media)

In my camera bag

I have short explanaition for this one, before my equipment was stolen, i was always take around my 85mm f/1.8 becouse it has become my piece of kit that i could not fasake. But now i used NIKON D800 Simply because its a hell of a camera for me that have a plenty of Megapixel that allow me as a Portrait photographer to be flexible by using all of its sensor!... for the sake of the lense i use 50mm f1.8 till the time being, i'll get the 85mm f1.8!...

Feedback

The advice is simple, Use what you have dont seat and complain about of not having a beter gear. start what you are no matter the circumstances, also you have to be Patient in everything as a Photographer, use environment that sarounds you to get the story.

Sort:

Natural light that's what I always prefer to use for portraits. Good job done here and was interesting to read all the story behind..
