THE MAGIC MIRROR OF DREAMS

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemian! I hope you are doing well. You know what? Children are the purest beings. They are, as they describe themselves, creatures taken from fantastic stories. Their talks are the most honest and their dreams are sweet such cotton candy.

When we were little we all wanted to be an impressive person, according to our own perception at that time, a person who will impact in the world. I remember that when I was in the first grade I already visualized myself as a cowboy like Woody, my second great aspiration was at that same time too, being a child was very dissatisfied and I lived under a brainstorm, I wanted to be a Power Ranger. Then a painter, because I loved drawing me dressed as these characters, those were my first masterpieces. You don’t know how I was dying to live my life as in Bridge to Terabithia, of course, except for the end. I just couldn’t wait to be called to form part of The Avengers.

Children always help us see the unfair to which we silent, and it is not their fault that in their heads they can’t process facts that go beyond your will. Children don’t know what it is to discriminate, unless you taught them, they live in a constant unknown and become Sherlock Holmes by shredding all that new information. Children are born dreamers and they don’t see limits.

Did that astronaut, who surely people thought that it was absurd to become that, stopped to fulfill his dream? Do you think that soccer player achieved success by paying attention to those who said it was a sport for men? Or better, and here I will expose my personal experience, can I not be great having studied the career that moved my world and not what all my family and friends expected? I preferred to remain a dreamer and not a repressed one. And I have achieved it, I am achieving it.

Look at yourself through the mirror of dreams and don’t be unfair with yourself.

I want to introduce you to Pamela and Vero, beyond being my models on this occasion, they are great girls with different perspectives. This was a photographic work I did last year in which I wanted to highlight the empowerment of women and girls, so I took the time to pay tribute to all those dreamers who fight against discrimination and in favor of gender equality since international women's day is coming this month. You can also see it as a girly version of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone's Erised Mirror.

The greatness of the woman is achieved thanks to the perseverance of her dreams as a child, those born from the purest and most innocent thought.
