A literal "Night at the Museum": Halloween Nights

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Have you Ever wondered how it would be if you along with a bunch of friends got locked up with no power in a museum?

Well This is what the curators at the Natural History Museum in Gothenburg, Sweden Came up with.

As a part of haloween celeberations, The museum shut their lights down and asked the visitors to bring their torchlights out and have a viewing in the dark. It was an exciting evening indeed.

What happens in the dark?

The images from the Dark Side

We were welcomed with hanging skeletons. They were out of the museum's closet

Overall it was great fun to see a museum in the dark. With children excited and adults suprised at the whole exhibit, It was an unique and interesting expereince. It would be an awesome initiative for museums around the world to open up to such idea's. It does generate lot of interest and revenue to the museum.

Love to be in a museum at night, love it when the open for the public once in a while

Nice to know. I think it was unique.

Wow, that is really cool looking and something interesting to do in the evening! I bet there were some safety issues to check out to make sure everything was okay. I can imagine it was a lot of fun and really a different way to see a museum you may have already seen a few times! Thanks for sharing. #theunmentionables

It was quite safe. Although the general lights were out; There were many members inside with their flashlights. Exactly, I have been there previously, they have a decent collection and it was extremely interesting to have a viewing at night. Thanks for stopping by!

Really cool! My kids think it's creepy to have the lights off and use a flashlight. :) Lol! I bet they would have thought it was pretty fun scaring each other in the museum. ;)

Not really. The images are an artistic interpretation.

As amazing as this museum may be, I don't think this is suitable for kids. Even I got some minor psychological trauma just by looking at the photo

I am sorry for your trauma. Not intended, There were a lot of children. Let us leave it at that. Have a nice day.

Wow wow wow !!! It must be extraordinary experience!!
And photos are nice as well! :D

Indeed YiYu, It was so much fun. At a point, I was jumping like a kid :P I hadn't felt so much excitement in a long time.

It certainly is an interesting way to view the exhibits. A nice way to get people to come in and enjoy them when they otherwise would not bother.

My thoughts on it exactly! It is a genuinely interesting way to view the exhibits.
