The return of GG's 'Midwest Sunrise' series

in #photography7 years ago

Greetings Steemit,

Have you ever had the feeling that you were missing something, only to have the universe provide a solution without any personal prompting or action to obtain one?

I experienced this hypothetical play out in real life not too long ago, and as it happens to be specifically Steemit centered, I figured a prompt post was warranted.

A Little Backstory

I had been running a series on here named "Midwest Sunrise" in which I would post a sunrise pic looking East off my balcony, watching the sun crest right at a treeline in view, and adding whatever insightful notions my half still sleeping mind could muster that morning.

Unintentionally this posting pattern became a morning mantra of sorts, allowing a moment to pause before the day got going, used to reflect on what thoughts needed to be centered & sorted to beget a better balance.

Here's what that viewpoint looked like, via a few pics I had shared on Steemit.

Current Situation

As the world turns, an equinox seems to have occurred, and my treeline sunrise view has rolled out of frame. The sun now rises behind an adjacent apartment building, and that leaves us with a far less scenic view point to photograph, so the project had stalled several months ago.

I've experimented with alternative ideas & angles - yet sadly the best shots I've captured lack any personally driven 'Umphfff' to really get me motivated to share on Steemit.

This shot was taken this morning, as an example.

Nature Finds A Way

One early morning recently I stepped outside my front door. As I turned around to lock it, something that had been there the entire last 17+ months I've lived here, jumped out my direction and stopped me mid rotation.

There is a window at the top of the stairway, and since facing directly East from my view point, it acts as a canvas of sorts (in my mind) and offers a painted picturesque scene of whatever sky happens to be drifting through behind it.

And just like that - the universe provided a solution I needed without any personal prompting or action on my behalf to obtain one, minus my being present in that moment to receive it.

In Conclusion

I've already got a few awesome shots set aside for this new direction, as I've been collecting sunrises via this vantage point for a couple weeks running now.

Taking all sides of the experience into account and attempting to add any insightful notions my half waking mind can muster this moment, as well as keeping with the proper themed presentation of a 'Midwest Sunrise' post, I'd say the lesson here is threefold:

Take a deep breath. Await 'solutions' opposed to focusing on 'problems'. And know that 'All is as its meant to be'. (in some sense)

Cheers Steemit!
