Hello, fellow Steemians! Sorry if it took this long to post a new review. I've been busy during the past few weeks. Not only that, our Internet connection is crappy right now I can't upload too many pictures. This is the best I can give you for the moment.
For this blog, I will be reviewing Hot Wheels' U.S.S. Enterprise from the 2009 film reboot of Star Trek!
The ship is as small as the matchbox-size cars released by Hot Wheels. With Federation starships in Star Trek having detailed markings on their hulls, there's bound to be imperfections for a toy of this scale. The recesses that mark the individual hull
panels of the saucer section are apparently thick. Some of the paint applications look like smudges like the blue Bussard collectors on the nacelles, though they still did good on the ship's registry.
From this angle, it looks like it's made from clay rather than die-cast metal. The join lines running along the secondary hull (the lower portion of the ship, in Star Trek vernacular) are fairly obvious. Due to the small scale, the slim nacelle pylons are thick.
The ship is mostly made of die-cast metal. The nacelles and nacelle pylons are made of soft plastic. Hot Wheels also included a display stand.
The starboard nacelle has warped, since I store it along with my Star Wars Titanium Series vehicles.
Overall, I would give this a 4 out of 10. The Japanese-made Furuta Star Trek ships probably look better in terms of build. I bought this at a local toy convention for $7.
