When I came to Costa Rica four years ago I did not know how much this country will change me. I found a new life here and started a family. But it was the jungle that helped me to to overcome 33 years of city life. The sounds, the smells, the plants and the animals are just absolutely amazing and make one rethink our modern lifes. If you have never experienced the jungle yourself I can highly recommend the experience!

i like this post and thank you for share the post

One might ask himself how hell looks like, my answer is and will always be this: Like the city.

The forest gives me identity as my ancestors lived in it, there are not so much artificial sounds and people.

Most people that visit the forest know they are surrounded by greatness and that is why most don't do any bullshit when they are inside it.

The smell, the sounds, the look of the forest, the animals, the meaning it has to me enriches my soul with stronger determination, inspiration & mental strength and other things which almost nobody else can understand.

I form these connections through reading the stories of my ancestors & their gods.

Animals are for example not simply animals to my ancestors, they give them attributes.

Sleipnir, the horse of Odin, glorious, magnificent, fast, courageous and proud.

There is a spiritual connection between us and nature!

I spent just two weeks in CR a few months ago but I totally understand what you mean. We stayed in a small wooden bunk outside Puerto Viejo, surrounded by lush tropical garden with sloths living in the trees right in front of the bunk! The beach was just some 200 meters away, totally empty most of the time. It felt like I could easily spend the rest of my life there... :) I prefer living in nature so much to living in the city! Happy for that you made Costa Rica your home :)

I love Porto Viejo or to be precise the south of the town with the long road and the jungle. One of my favorite places in the world!

Absolutely :) You mean the road to Manzanillo right? We used to rent bikes and ride there often :) but our apartment was in the northern part of the town next to Playa Negra :) beautiful place!

Yes, that’s the spot! :)

One of the first conditions of happiness is that the relationship between man and nature should not be broken.

Very wise words! Did you make them up or read somehwere?

Read it in one of the sites I think it's a philosophical saying

I love it and it is very true!

yes, is it life
thank you for your support

It is @flauwy, indeed! You know, it enrages me when people here in San José destroy their backyards and gardens to cram more cars in their houses. The trees, birds, insects, all nature itself is healing and truly a blessing. Thank you for appreciate my country @flauwy, it really touches me deeply. Thank you for sharing this side of Costa Rica!

Wow, we should organize a Steem meet-up in San José and discuss how to promote it in CR. :)

That would be amazing! There's lots of people in Steemit from Costa Rica!

Let's do it! Are you on Discord?

Sure, my username is cpol

I believe you @flauwy. Nature is something we people miss having a bond with, the modern life brings all this busy life into us, that we don't think and have a story of our own just because of the technologies around us. Lots of people would use a break from this life and get into the jungles to have a feel of creating their own story.
The cities we live in rely on these jungles for food and water, but people don't think about being part of them.
I would love to visit and experience the jungle life in Costa Rica and compare it to that here in Africa.

I really want to visit Africa one day and see the amazing jungles there with my own eyes!

You will love it here too. Lots of forests and wildlife

I was actually invited to Uganda but it never happened. Maybe I should attend a Uganda Steem-meetup!

A steem-meetup would be the best. Steemit is reaching various corners of Uganda. And you being a part of it would be a motivation to lots of newbies and minnows.

From my experience, nature has a way of calming me.

Me too. :)

a really wonderful place you have chosen. I believe you that this land has changed you, after many years living in the big city

It made me a new person in a way!

Glad you like it there. I'm sure its much better to live close to nature than in traffic pollution.

Can you please make a post on Ayahuasca?

I will make posts about Aya soon. When I am at Anarchapulco I will attend a ceremony and afterwards I will go to Iquitos in the middle of the Amazon to drink with some amazing people and ask mother Aya how Steem can help here to change the world. ;)

Very life-transforming move you've made there dude! Big congrats that you found your cosy spot that serves you well. I left the job 3 years ago and live my life fully on my terms, but I still live in the city though :-/ however I'm planning to get a proper campervan this year and live my life on the go. I just followed your tut re autosteem and followed utopian-1up as you described. Awesome stuff man!

Awesome! 1UP starts soon.

Being your own boss and living your life as you like is the most valuable thing in the world.

100% agree. It makes your spirit truly grow and change for the better person day by day. Sometimes I only think that I could make this decision 10 years ago. Byt oh well, what can you do, cant reverse the time. Just keep pushing forward with a full steem power :) lol

You are who you are because of everything you did in your life. If you would have acted differnetly 10 years ago you would not be the same person today anymore!

the forest teaches us a lot of rights.

Modern infrastructure is devastating nature. We find peace of mind and heart in natural places because We are nature.
I always felt pleasure going to some villages or undeveloped areas, far from the noise, pollution and so much population around. Worth to spend time at such places.
And Awesome click. So gentle and peaceful. Keep sharing.

That is a beautiful shot.

Thanks, it was just that brief moment. I tried one more but the sun reflection was already gone.

as it is with any good photo.

amazing you can take photos at the right time

Although only a short post, this piece is filled with serenity and calm. I love the illustration of spiritual connectedness between yourself and your local environment and community. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I do feel very much connected to the nature here indeed!

A steepshot of paradise!

Paradise indeed!

I would love to visit Costa Rica 😍

Please come! It is one of the best places in the world. No military, 25% national park, nearly 100% regenerative energy, cheap health care, affordable education, most diverse biology on the planet and only a few hours away from the US. Bring Spencer and we make some cool videos and maybe drink Ayahuasca together. ;)

Wow that's amazing ! You have took an hard step which my people's like can't even think of taking!
I love the jungle life , we do campaign in the jungle every summer!
Thank you for sharing your experience !
I will show this to my MUM!

It is quite a difference to good old, dark London. ;)

That's lovely my brother !😅

The beauty of nature! It is really fun and relaxing to live in a province(term here in the Philippines). No pollution, no traffic..
That's a great Steepshot photo @flauwy! :)

Thank you, I was getting a lucky shot. Not the best quality but it caught the moment really well. :)

The sun was perfectly captured between the leaves. :)

However, I need a better camera. I am still using my phone and even though they are quite good these days I should become a more professional blogger as Steemit has been so good to me. I will buy myself some great vlogging camera which should be fine for taking pictures as well.

Though you're using phone your videos and post are great, I understand SLR is better especially in vlogging and your place is perfect for vlogging nature, it's very relaxing. @papa-pepper is giving away his camera that will be great for vlogging. :) lol

Beautiful photo! Thanks for distracting from my work for moment so I can pretend I was in a beautiful jungle. :-)

You are welcome to join me here in your mind for a moment. :)

Steepshot, yet another one.

With every new "app" or view of the steem blockchain, it opens the door for new users to experience steem however they like.

Steem is going viral in 2018...

P.s. I'll take your word on the jungle thing, if I seen a snake id faint. lol

There was a large Boa Constrictor here the other day but I didn't see it. The land lord told us about it. So far I have just seen a tiny snake here. And that although my spiritual animal is Boa Negra!

Be careful man be careful.

And you still haven't seen any snake yet?

A tiny one in my house about half a year ago. Looked more like a worm. But there are giants here...

wow! i really need to go to costa rica. :) what kind of animals did you see in that forest @flauwy? :)

Butterflies! There is no place on earth with such a great diversitiy of butterflies. But also Sloths, Tucans, Pelicans, Hummingbirds, Iguanas. There are many more exotic animals here but usually you don't see them like snakes, jaguars, crocodiles, tapirs and much much more.

I'm getting stressed near to bursting after 18 months back in the U.S.
We own land in rural Thailand, but came back to the U.S. for the girls education.
Maybe I should learn how to homeschool and get my ass back to Thailand.

In Germany homeschooling is illegal. I never met anyone in my life who got homeschooling. Pretty cool concept.

No shit? I didn't know that.

I know one family in Bangkok that was doing it with two sets of twins. They (the kids) seemed very well adjusted and curious little buggers, as well as extremely intelligent and creative.

Rural Thailand I don't think we'd much choice but to homeschool. Especially since neither girl speaks much Thai - despite the older one living there nearly 6 years of her life and going to a Thai pre-school. Secretly I think she understands far more than she lets on.

Wow brother, that is truly a beautiful picture. It reminds me of the jungle book (not sure if it's called like that). The sun shining through the tree with that red flower...just wow brother.

Winny out...for now ;)

Yeah, Jungle Book is correct. :)

wow this looks excellent now you tried steepshot too wonderful :D

The nature give is less all of day by cutting, illegal logging, i think the human still not respest to nature. I apreciate ur post @flauwy post about nature. In this world after amazong, leuser is a second big florest that keep fresh air. #nature awareness

jungle-lifestyle :D

It's amazing that you adjusted to this new (or should I say old!) way of life. I guess deep down we are all still attached to nature and the beauty of non-commercial, unspoiled life. Sounds like you found your paradise, wish the same to all of us!

I like reading the stori. Costa Tica is one of tiurism country.

It is interesting. It is hot in there, isn’t it?

hola @flauwy muy buena foto

Nice post flauwy. The personal side of you. Take a peek at my Catalina piece if you get a chance.

https://steemit.com/fishing/@irieco/a-day-off-of-catalina

Seeing this makes me so calm. Maybe just maybe one day i will be able to get the hell out of city and live a peacefull life but i dont have the faintest clue how to start.

It is such amazing😌

stunning. nature is the life man! :)

Nice post... This is aesthetics

Beautiful

@flauwy it is a nice sun photo..thanks for this

I've always lived next to a forest! It's magical - the sounds, the smells and feeling of being grounded to earth, one with the nature!
Never been to jungle though but I believe that with every little word, I'm spelling my way to the dream.

Thanks for sharing!

I strongly believe we can never be truly complete without an experience of Nature in its purest form

@papa-pepper i really wish i was with you in that jungle.. Nature is pretty awesome... beautiful

I think you confused me with another pretty cool person ;)

Followed you. I lived in CR for 5 years and I really miss it. I had to move back after the company I worked for closed. I was able to make art my career in Canada though, so hopefully one day I'll move back and not need a job lol In the meantime, I look forward to taking little vacations when I see your posts about Costa Rica lol Pura vida mae ;)

Costa Rica - great country!

sangat bagus dan keren sekali
