Repino and Knyaginino

in #photography3 years ago

I decided to finish off the Budrino side of the Velikyustyug district of the Vologda region and went to shoot two abandoned villages. Fortunately, due to such dryness, you can drive to any place, even the most difficult to access!

Having previously studied the path ahead and the surrounding area on the map from the satellite, it was concluded that some buildings were still preserved there.

The terrain here is very hilly and the views are beautiful from a height!

However, this is all that I managed to shoot...

And all because there is no trace left of the houses in these villages. Well...traces remained: a small mound with nettles and willow tea.

The fields in these seemingly remote places are cultivated by a local agricultural enterprise.

Perhaps, as it usually happens, the images on the map from a satellite were made twenty years ago, and during this time the houses simply turned to dust.

Or they were taken apart for firewood by local tractor drivers.

Yes, this also happens that the village was empty.

On another map of the natural boundaries, I learned that there were also the villages of Shelomyana, Dorovaya and Chechulino nearby.

This is the most remote and least preserved edge of the district. Trade routes never passed here and there were no large rich settlements.
