These are interesting. Dark, sensual. There's the slightest vanity in taking any sort of self portrait art that reflects a very human sensibility that I find both appealing and slightly uncomfortable. But it's a discomfort that in itself is caused not by you, the subject, but in what it can paradoxically reveal in me, the audience.

Coyness, yearning on both sides - from you to the audience and the audience back, but in some way that's hard to define. It feels like that's expressed in the darkness of the photos.

There's a sexual energy there, but is it calling to itself or warning? Both maybe? It's inherently mysterious, dangerous, and as exposed as the bare shoulder and back in the photos.

I saw part one and am talking about the series as a whole, of course. Very well done. There are some important differences. In part one, the camera is closer. The difference in the effect created is hard to explain. I suppose the first part is more insistent. It not only knows the audience is there, but was expecting them. The second group notices the audience but is more ambivalent towards them.

These pictures are rough, down and dirty (in the artistic sense), and real. They arouse in me all kinds of feelings. Perhaps this the purpose of art. The title of the series hits like a dagger, the double meaning (expressed in part in your first post) that the artist has been cheating on herself, and has just come home to find her soul with its real lover.

But in a sense she (you) is also cheating on the audience with herself, an act of being true to her expression as an artist over any convention and expectation the audience at large might have. This is good stuff, I look forward to seeing more of your work.

And for the record, you are heart-breakingly beautiful.

How does one even reply to something like this, I'm momentarily speechless. First of all, thank you for taking the time to write such a beautiful and well thought out comment, I appreciate it a lot.

What hit me the most is the part about yearning, that is very well said. I need to save that for future inspiration.

I'm glad you see the rough, down, dirty and real, that is exactly what I want them, and me, to be, or rather, I am.
