Today I had the opportunity to see some swans and used it to photograph these majestic creatures which are deeply anchored in many cultures and in Greek mythology, the swan has a special meaning and according to a legend, Zeus once transformed into a swan to be able to approach the king's daughter Leda undisturbed because he had fallen in love with her. Leda and the Swan is probably one of the best-known legends from ancient Greece and Zeus wad so enchanted by her beauty that he absolutely wanted to seduce her and the father of the gods Zeus knew that she was very kind to animals and came up with the idea to seduce her in the form of a swan to then give birth to some children with her. In mythology, the swan is also associated with sun gods as a symbol of light and can be regarded as a symbol of elegance or harmony, which has fascinated many people since ancient cultures. While white swans are considered more as signs of openness, it are the black ones that are linked to the mysterious and unknown things in life and if someone should see one, this can be seen as an approximation of the unknown things and can be considered as a kind of oracle.

Swans are in any case a symbol of purity or loyalty and also within the animal world, it has an important meaning and plays a high role and other animals that live in the water have a huge respect of the behavior and the dangerous attitude and in addition swans are known for defending their territory in an emergency to protect their young. In history, it also has received the reputation of a royal animal and not without reason swans were particularly popular in some royal houses and already had a high status within the English royal family several centuries ago and were considered as a sign of power and also the former Bavarian king Ludwig II (1845 - 1886) had the swan as a favorite animal. The swan is also deeply anchored in heraldry and can be seen in different coats of arms and of course also in art it is an important sign of beauty or elegance and is still an inspiration for countless artists today.
