Antibiotics in Nature

Hey dear community, to begin with I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a great start to the new week! In this article I would like to talk about medicine and hope you can learn new things.

Most antibiotics have their origin in nature where the Scottish doctor Alexander Fleming (1881 - 1955) also discovered the Penicillin when he conducted research with moulds and bacteria in 1928 and in the later course, more and more medical preparations with antibiotic effect were produced synthetically. Antibiotics always have a similar effect and ensure that viruses are killed or that they do not multiply further and specifically support the body's immune system and also long before the 20th century century, people used plants from nature that had these effects and used plants, mushrooms, animals or other things from nature to treat inflammations. Nowadays, most of the synthetically produced antibiotic comes from China or India where it is mass-produced, but you can also find numerous plants in nature which got active ingredients with antibiotic effects and some only have these active ingredients in the fresh state and through the drying process, these are sometimes lost as with Buckhorn plantain (Plantago lanceolata) which in the fresh state contains the active ingredient Aucubin which from the effect can be compared to the Penicillin. Buckhorn plantain is found in large quantities everywhere in nature and is only an example of naturally occurring antibiotics and honey is also highly valued for this effect, but it also depends on the type of honey and some species have a particularly high potential and can be well suited as a supplement to healing. Some medicinal plants with natural antibiotic effects can also be integrated well into the daily diet and these can be ginger, turmeric, garlic, broccoli, onion or thyme and how to use this plant always depends on the individual and some plants can be easily processed into a tea or tinctures. If you extract the plant, this has the advantage that the concentration of the active ingredients increases even more and the effect is even stronger. There are countless plants that have antibiotic properties and often it are the inconspicuous parts of the plant such as the roots which have a particularly high concentration of the active ingredients and as always, I would like to point out that in case of illness you always have to ask your doctor or pharmacist of trust about the right medicine and application to avoid complications!
