One of the best things to do in the morning when visiting my friend in France is to walk to the bakery in the village.
This takes about 15 to 20 minutes and the vieuw is SPECTACULAIR. And all the #scent that you come across by all kinds of herbs and flowers that grow alongside that path...
Dutchess of Scent is always a happy dutchess when going for the french bread - about THAT #scentful reward i can not even begin to speak.....but i will! 😀
This is what it looks like in early atumn morning - the Provence in that particular spot really is too hot i juli or august, when temperatures pass 40 degrees...so i prefer early autumn to visit and i get a week of late summer after the famously wet dutch weather has gone bad already 🌞
Let's walk! You will see why i volunteer to go for bread in the morning!
Did i mention i love #doorways?
A quick peak into someone's garden 😉
I meet all kinds of animals on my way
We are half way now; the entrance of an ancient cemetary, the path gets a bit darker here
So many gorgeous little wild flowers grow besides the path. You know what one of my fav songs is! WILD THING! YOU MAKE MY HEART SING!
We walk now alongside the wall of the cemetary as you see, soon we will pass the entrance of it and that means we reached the village.
So! The village is ancient and beautiful. I am not going to bother you with all kind of wiki knowledge and i will not give you many pics of it as these structures are photographed by many, just google if you are interested in knowing more. I ll stick with a detail of the castle that i like:
We take the d-tour: narrow streets with cobble stones:
To arrive at the back of the bakery - peeping through the back door. @Dutchess of #scent going all mad here....
There it is!
The baker. That crunchy lovely french bread.....so! good! .....did you know that if you can't smell you don't taste a thing!?
Okay! Remember the movie A Good Year?
With Russell Crowe?
Here it is that lovely square.
Probably a bit smaller than it appeared on film:
And - this i can not keep from you: the vieuw of the village when arriving by main road.
I think now you understand why this is the most beautiful village in France (though there are many such claims) :
Now let's go home and have breakfast with that tasty crunchy bread - and i need to go work now (lately we don't earn so much here you see 😉)
I will adjust this post later with dutch and german language - for my german followers and hey....i am a dutchy after all.
Have a great day and don't forget to steem some #scent !
(All pics are my own)
Another village walk you find here:
Wow beautiful photos. Wat een mooie land om op vakantie te gaan. Nu weet ik waarom u elke octhend naar de bakkerij gaat. Onderweg kunt u zoveel leuke mooie bloemen en dieren tegen komen. De broden ziet er heel lekker uit. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day
Really nice shots. That butterfly on the flower looks stunning. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure, thank you for your kind comment

This is probably one of the most incredible pieces you have ever posted. It covers so many different challenges, on top of the incredible pictures, #scents and the absolute kick butt scenery! Thank you! I adore it!!!
Upped and Steemed
I just knew you would. It took me over an hour and that is just the english version!
Thank you my friend! 😘😘😘
XOXOX The pleasure is mine!
I can understand why you go to get the bread with the beautiful scenery and views I can imagine the scents as you walk must be so refreshing
Most favorite walk in my life 😉
What a great post, Judith!! I've enjoyed discovering it and maybe, I'll go there for real.
Have a good day!
You are not far from there Helene. This used to be the first stop for us, coming from the Netherlands. After that its top 3 hours to Beziers i think.
Yes, you are right it is about 3 hours drive from Béziers. I went by a few times but never got the chance to stop.
Alors, la prochaine fois!
oh my ! what an awesome visit in this beautiful village Judith ! I want to take it with me, this is so enticing ! 😄
Merci Barbara! 😘
Such a wonderful walk I have just been on Judith. I really loved those narrow pathways lined with stone walls ~ And the views ~ And all the flowers along the way. And the aromas coming from the bakery ~ Divine.

This is so beautiful, Judith! I've been there some five years ago, but I should return. Great photos from the more hidden places that are not on every postcard.
Thank you Patrick! 😀
By the way: i think that most french postcards are originally shot in Roussillon 😉
I think so! :)
