Black Sand [Photo of the Day #490]

Black sand beaches are common in Iceland. In fact, those who do not have black sand are unusual, such as Rauðasandur (the red sand beach) in the Westfjord area. I do not even know the name of this black beach, but it does not at least diminish its raw beauty.
