In my last post I mentioned not having as much time to shoot over the past year as I'd have liked. That got me wondering how much I'd shot since lasting on Steemit. It turns out I'd shot more than I realized have some pretty cool shoots to share with you guys, if you'd like.
Heres one from a while back with a fantastic model and good friend, Miss Steph Zombie.
It was just a simple studio shoot against a blue backdrop and then I added some light flares in post. The blue tone and her kick ass hair colour really worked well together.

Aww thanks @j-vo. Steph has such a great look she looks almost surreal. I've a few more edits without the light flare but I think I prefer these.
I love the light flare - its a great effect! She is gorgeous which always helps make a photograph amazing lol! :D
She certainly is. I've shot with Steph quite a bit so there'll be plenty more to come.

This looks amazing! I've done a lot of studio work, and I've never produced anything that looked like a painting before... that top shot is absolutely killer!

Haha dude... I did studio photography for years... I know how much of the credit should you take... and it's decent. Steph looks like an amazing model, but I'm sure she's had shoots in the past that didn't come out this well.
they're so magical, I thought it was CGI.. excellent work Dave and your model is literally out of this world
Haha hopefully someday my CGI skills will be at this level. For now I just have to create these type of images with photography, and a little post production for the light flares too.
who need CGI skills when you can make it look this fantastical. the blue and orange are almost tonally opposite, giving it an even more surreal feel. Photoshop is still an amazing set of tools !
Thats super kind of you. I'm usually torn between a few different colour backdrops when shooting in studio, but when Steph turned up with her hair that colour I new it had to be a cool blue to really compliment her hair.
speaking as an animation / CGI producer, it's brilliant. I am often keen to replicate with photography, the effects we produce in the PC.. feel free to have a look at my weird and wonderful animation company. we never know when we need good photography for compositing !
