I have always wanted to visit the beautiful and mysterious country of Myanmar, yes it has dubious approach to human rights but having just opened up in the last 5 years I wanted to experience Myanmar before the 7/11 start popping up on every corner (Yes Thailand i'm looking at you)
I had just spent 2 weeks back home in the UK for xmas so was happy to escape the madness of my family and escape for a few weeks, my partner Jake refuses to go to Europe in winter ( we live in australia) so he was going to meet me in bangkok to start our journey to the border.
12 hours later and I arrive in bangkok, humid, hot and noisy, just as I remember it, we meet up and head back the to the bus station ready to start our journey to Myanmar, I didn't realise that the journey wouldn't end for another 30 hours....
Another pleasure of traveling is unexpected, isn't it? Enjoy your present!
