Out For A Walk At The Dam ~ Victoria Canada 🇨🇦

It’s only about a 10 minute walk away from home, very few people come through this way even though it’s opened up and been developed a little bit as a walking park.

This used to be a campground about 25 years ago but all the camping spots and outbuildings are completely overgrown now, it adds character to the area.

You can see on the right the foundation for what used to be the concession building, now only the cement pan remains. Other out buildings in the area still exist but they’re covered in vines and trees with some pretty interesting artwork from the punks that vandalize the area when it first shut down.

I don’t think that they’re able to do a whole lot with this area, I imagine it would cost a fortune to dig up all the old sewage lines and powerlines it’s almost on the verge of being a ecosystem contaminant which would be a costly clean up. It has been turned into a walking park instead which is ok with me!
