Been to Cuba some time ago, and for me it was really an unbelieveable travel experience. Me as a Dutchman, used to traffic rules and low emmision cars, became crazy when I experienced the Cuban way of driving.
Due to all the economic bans it is amazing that the Cubans still manage to drive these old cars on a daily basis with little to no parts available. They just make them themselves if something breaks. Also take into consideration that their highways are sometimes like a moon landscape with big holes and a lt of gravel on the roads :)
If you ever have the chance, just visit Cuba before it is to late and they also have the opportunity to buy new cars. A lot of American classics are already been replaced with cheap and ugly designed Chinese cars.
