The Warrens day 2 - The Enfield Case - Featured in the Conjuring 2

The Enfield Poltergeist was at 284 Green Street in Brimsdown, Enfield, England. It occurred from 1977 to 1979. The children included Margaret, age 14, Janet, age 11, Johnny, age 10 and Billy, age 7. Most of the Paranormal activity involved the 2 girls. The case attracted a lot of press from British newspapers and has been the subject of books, television documentaries, and horror films. This was the time that the Amityville Horror was a huge success (when it was going from best selling novel to a big budget film).

Most people and parapsychologists believed this was a hoax done by the girls, but a few- especially the Warrens believed it was a case of demonic possession. The girls at one point admitted it was a hoax, but were later told to retract their statements. No matter the case, there were many books, movies, and documentaries based on the Enfield home.

The Conjuring 2 (movies based on the Warrens) was a dramatized version of the case, especially due to the fact that other researchers said the Warrens were only there for a day.

In my last post, I mentioned that I don't care if the cases are real or hoaxes, I just want to be entertained. Though 'Conjuring 2' (2016) was a good horror movie, I would recommend the 'Sky Living' television series The Enfield Haunting, which was broadcast in May 2015. When I watched it, it was available on Hulu- it was much more realistic and lets the viewers know that the children could have faked everything.

In 2017 we went to London and I had to get to Enfield just to mark it off my list of 'Haunted Sites'. It was a distance away, but we made it by train and bus. Here are some of the photos:
