I agree with @shimster. I see curiosity more than surprise. But you took the photo so you'd know better.

I see a reflection in his glasses that I can't make out - maybe it's the photographer's arms or legs? Not sure. He's well groomed and healthy looking as he sits probably on a street bench. He might even have a friend beside him to his right. He looks content.

I'm always surprised when life does the unexpected. I have a propensity to worry about things I can't change. Worry serves no purpose I know that but it's ingrained in me and I have to work on it moment to moment.
