love the last photo with the brilliant sun - dazzling

very dazzling.....hard to see dazzling - that time of the day when the sun is low and you know you have to get off the mountain before dark dazzling :)

So beautiful! When I see these pictures I'm glad we return to Burgundy (France) next week to live in the country between the hills. No mountains though, but hills, forests, and emptiness. We will stay there for about two months, it's such a nice change from our lives in the city in the Netherlands.

Sounds lovely. I've never been to Europe and have seen tons of photos of different parts of France - looks so dreamy. Canada has some beautiful spots too and I must venture out to see them. We even have a island in the St Lawrence that belongs to France - strange eh? Not very many people live there - a few tourists visit but not much to see. It's called Île d'Orléans.

I didn't know France still had an island in Canada. I know that France once had a part of Canada around Quebec and Montreal. They still speak French (or also French) over there isn't it? When I was in my twenties, many many years ago, we made two trips to Canada one on the East Coast and one to the West Coast. We also visited Vancouver Island and Nova Scotia. On the west coach, we went as far as the Hudson Bay with the Polar Bear Express. That were the days!!

Yes they still own the little island. Strange isn't it? I always find it strange that countries govern small islands so far away.

Quebec is still a french province and is still trying to be independent from Canada. Politics. blech.

Because Quebec is a french speaking province, all of Canada has to be bilingual.

I haven't visited our east coast. It's one of those trips I'd like to take one day. I've been out west many times - love it there. That's where my son lives with my grandson. I'll probably be heading out there in the next couple of months again.

What a wonderful landscape and great photos. That second photo is so beautiful.

Yes, that's my favorite too. Thank you so much for your input.

September looks like the time to visit the top of the world! I don't yet have much mountain experience. Seeing pictures like these is why I look forward to future expeditions I can only imagine right now. Thanks for sharing.

You can do it. You start out on small hikes, get your bearings and continue on. There are all kinds of hiking clubs that would be most helpful.

As a little girl, family vacations were often to parks and outdoor spaces in New England. I remember "hiking" a lot then, but of course through the eyes of a child, the mountains may have seemed much bigger than they actually were! One day I'm going to the AT, one day ☺

I like that bucket list item. Very much. If you listen closely you'll hear the mountains calling your name (John Muir wrote that).

It's a good night to dream of being on top of the world, while mountains are fresh in my mind.

Wow lovely country there.

Yes I am a bit behind!!!

I know right? I love it there....mind you right now they are in a deep freeze with snow too....which is unusual.

wow, breathtaking. That looks like a place I'd like to get lost in (at least until dark)

Yes, you don't want to be there in the dark....too many places to trip and fall and too many bears and cougars....oh my! Magical is all I can say.

Cool. What a beautiful scenarios. Love your scenarios. You are a photography expert. Keep it up.

Oh I don't know about an expert but I do like to take photos of nature. Thanks for your comment!

Nice photos! It looks so nice and warm in those shots. Are those real, green, non-frozen plants?

It was coldish, September weather, snow line on the mountains behind, not frozen yet!

First photo- the view is mesmerizing. Ah,those beautiful mountains!

Glad you liked it! Thanks for viewing them :)

I can hear the lack of noise-silence in the photos. Looks so peaceful, and serene. Beautiful photos. Thanks.

Thanks @ddschteinn. It is a very beautiful place.

The perfectly still water lake is quite a sight.

It's dream like....other worldly. And very quiet surprisingly.

I bet a human voice would carry across the lake when the air is that still.

Echos...yes....lol. But you don't want to do that - it's funny but you really want to be still and quiet and just not bother the natural habitat. It's almost sacred.

Would be cool then to hear an animal cry, like elk or bear.

Well the truth of it is, there was a black bear on the trail with three youngins....just down the trail on the first photo. I should have posted where we saw it.

I hear coyotes every night where I live....they chatter like little school girls and then howl.

Great post..beautifull nature and nice capiture shoot...i like your post thanks for sharing and god bless u dear...
