Have you seen the Flex Tape ad? The one where he saws a boat in half, then patches it with tape, and takes it out in water. I tried Flex Tape once, on a leaky pipe in my moms bathroom. It didnt work. So I don't believe you could repair a boat with it as the commercial shows. Working in video production, I know all about trick photography.

I wouldn't say a scam. In a sense yes, but mostly a bad product that was well advertised.
