Argapura Terrace Fields - The Hidden Charm of Majalengka, West Java

in #photography7 years ago

The scenery from the hill Panyaweuyan Argapura will really spoil the eye for the traveler and photography enthusiasts. Imagine, the charm of Argapura terrace which is an ancestral heritage is so beautiful to be seen. Even more, the enchantment of this place will be more interesting if you visit at sunrise or sunset. Argapura Terrace is located in Majalengka Regency, West Java. To get to this place you have to travel about 20 km and only takes about 50 minutes from Majalengka.

Though quite a lot of interesting places that can be visited in this vegetable-producing area. At least around the village of Argapura, the village where I stayed. Being in this village is like in my father's hometown in Wonosobo, Central Java. The same regional character, the same tribe, the friendly citizens and the same village location at the foot of Mount Ciremai, made me want to be there forever.

You can point your camera in any direction. if to the west, you will be spoiled by the valley Cilongkrang has a green and fresh landscape. While to the east, you will be spoiled by the mighty Mount Cermai with a height between 800-1000 masl.

Here are some views and activities from the farmers I shot there. All photos taken with Canon EOS 1300D.

Dang. Those guys spraying the pesticides should really be wearing masks (minimally, good masks, plus other protective gear).

Regular inhalation of toxic chemicals is bad bad bad for health.

Stunning pics! I love the lines from the terrace. What lens are you using?

Wow!
Very good photos. I really think that Indonesia and the Philippines are two countries that are very much alike. We also have the rice terraces here in the Philippines which is very convenient for the farmers located at mountainous areas.
It's really good that you have captured the very simple yet happy life farmers are living.
Indonesia is definitely on my bucket list.
