the clock man - craftsmanship series #1

in #photography8 years ago (edited)

hi, there. I am going to collect all my photos under this theme - craftsmanship and make it a series to share with you what I have seen over the years traveling inside Taiwan. there are truly so many experienced professionals for many traditional handmade products but they are getting older and it looks few and few young people are willing to take up these inherited arts. but, well, I can only take photos of them and hope someone will do something to preserve them.

this first one is about a clock repair shop and its owner. these photos were taken in a rush so they are not really good, I know. but I really love the smiles of this clockman and decide to let him go first. :)

this is Shan - you may learn more about me here. :)

These are great documentary shots, well done and thank you for sharing them!

thank you for the kind words! I somehow regret for not taking more shots there as the clock man was very kind (so instead of shooting, we talked!)...

Are there many like this or part of a losing trade?

sorry don't know what you mean by losing trade... :P ... but there certainly aren't many people specializing in fixing clocks nowadays...

Thanks for your reply. Then it's what means by losing trade. A trade or profession that we are losing day by day.
