Passing the Torch: Canon Rebel to Canon 5D

I thought it would be fitting to bid my old camera a proper farewell, and to introduce my new camera.

They are NOT just cameras. My old camera, my Canon Rebel, has been with me so long. From discovering a love for photography, to learning more about the field, to developing an understanding of the manual controls, and to now, realizing I want to be a serious photographer.

My new camera (Canon 5D Mark IV), is so new to me. We have to get to know each other, but I think we're off to a good start.

So here it is, my new camera, the last photo taken with my Rebel:

*The first photo I actually took with my new camera was of my cat, which I think is kind of special. I had wondered earlier in the day if it was important to make the first photo count. I wasn't thinking about that when I started configuring my camera, but it turns out, the first photo really did count, because my cat is the best thing ever.

Without further ado, my old camera (taken with my new camera). A proper farewell, and an end to an era:

I think the 5d is next on my list for an upgrade. At some point!!

I've been planning (and saving) for an upgrade for some time. It feels amazing to finally HAVE it! I was actually debating between this one and the 6D Mark II - really happy I went with the 5D!
