This is a flamboyan flower. So far I have found 5 different colors of the flamboyan tree here in Puerto Rico: white, orange, yellow, red and blue, the most common is the red flower and you can literally find it everywhere.
When in full bloom the tree looks like a big afro covered in flowers. You can see entire streets covered in red flowers and people taking pics of it especially in the mountain area, near rivers and lakes. The flower usually blooms in summer but thanks to last year hurricanes the nature its out of sync here. I think this summer I will go "flamboyan hunting" to shoot some pics.

El flamboyan uno de los arboles nativos junto con la Ceiba. Triste que muchos de ellos ya no estan por causa del huracan. Boricua de pura sepa. Thank you for the flashback.

You need hot weather for flamboyan trees... You can take the merciless hot weather with you if you want, I really don't mind sharing that with you! 😅
Ahaaaa... it reminds me of a flamboyant flamenco dancer.... Skirts a-swirling... All it needs is music! :D
