And proliferated with the help of ideal conditions for the past week or so. Today we finally had a gleam of sunlight for an hour and it was quickly covered up again by clouds.
This fungi has taken residence on this tree stump all warm season, I wonder how it will fare come much cooler weather.
I also wonder what kind of properties this fungus may possess... medicinal, spiritual.. gastrointestinal.. who knows! Won’t be me finding out.

So cool looking, I'm curious about the properties too. They do look kinda tasty, almost like little tangerine sections. I think the kinds of fungus that grow on wood are usually not poisonous but I wouldn't bet my life it ;)

Not even close, but I've researched foraging for mushrooms a bit a while ago and seem to remember that tidbit. Take it with a grain of salt though, I might be totally misremembering :P.
