Travel with me: Sailing Greece, Day #2 - Scammed Again :)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

The next day we packed all our stuff and moved on with out road trip leaving Athens behind.

We made a short stop in Makrakomi for a morning coffee and it was amazing to see how many Greeks are chilling outside on an average work day. Nobody's rushing, just sitting there and chilling :)

We started climbing the mountains on a curvy road and would occasionally stop for a nice view to take a few tourist photos. I am not especially fond having myself on front side of a camera or it is something i need to get used to still :)

Basically it was a day spent driving and occasionally making a stop until we have arrive to Karpenissi, a small and very quiet town.

With great view in the mountains.

Awesome narrow streets. (again)

Some weird wild fruit.

And numerous professional drivers with extraordinary parking skills :)

Since the day was to an end we needed a place to stay and that's where we GOT SCAMMED again. We have found this amazing motel/hotel or whatever it is and made a reservation on booking.com This was the image that advertised the place and we were already dreaming about lying in a pool and sipping cocktails after a long day drive :)

It was getting pretty late and we rushed to that location for a swim, but... Well i do not know if this is Greece specific, but... this is what we got lol

Since the owner was very kind and apologetic, and backed his apologies with lots of free vine we remained there for the night. They have a nice bar, and the rooms are really neat and tidy with impressive panorama from the location. So we left a good review and in case you need to stay i would reccomend this as 9/10 (Would have been 10/10 if there was water in the pool as advertised.) Here is a booking link in case you might decide to stay there sometime, they might even have water in that pool by that time :)

Tomorrow will be the last day on the road before we on board our yacht and set sail. Stay tuned for further adventures!

Have a great day!

Ah well, pics always look better in the magazine. Last time I went on a vacation I made sure to book a single-donkey barn.

Guess what I got..

Well at least you have got more than you have booked lol

Haha...Cool picture of the pool you didn't get!

Yeah :) There was another picture the guys took with them swimming in it with no water :) It's probably n somebody's else PC. You should have seen the owner of the place. He was literally waiting for us with a few bottles of wine at the gate :)

You have taken great photos man, as always! You are rocking!

Thank Wolf. I took those with my phone ;)

Beautiful pictures :)

Thanks :)

Hah! You write a good travel story... lol. I read part 1 and couldn't wait to read part 2... That panorama is HUGE! I could see that glass AND its contents - in the kitchen! Freaky... Bring on part 3...! :D

Part 3 coming tomorrow! I am glad you enjoy reading it :)

I do! Will look out for it! 😏

Definitely worth an upvote and a resteem :)

Thanks! I am honored :)

Welcome to Greece!!!you should visit some of our islands 😊😊😊

In fact we did :) These are coming in other days of these series. We have been sailing with a yacht for 7 days :)

That is indeed some pro level parking! I wonder how many times the driver ruined the back of his car before he got it right! :) Another great story mate, I literally laughed out loud at the hotel pool pic! expectation ad reality don't always align :D

We got fucked with the pool for sure. At least we got some free vine, it was too late to look for another apartment already :) And that guys probably has built his house over that car as i do not imagine how this parking is possible in such a narrow street :)

lol! He sounded pretty apologetic about it :)
