After having a few beers in a bar in Tenerife while watching soccer game and working on the images from my Masca walk at the same time i came over these... and then i could not help but hear a couple next to me cursing how hard the life is, how many times both of them have been hurt... and i thought...
Each and everyone of us had or have difficult stretches in life, sometimes they are really hard and hectic, but we keep fighting, we keep building. Something like balancing these stones....
Sony A7R II Sony 55mm f1.8 Zeiss Sonnar T* @ f/1.8 1/60 iso 160
We keep adding pieces, finding the ones that fit. Starting from bigger boulders and adding smaller ones once we establish the base.

And like it was not hard enough by itself, life sometimes goes sideways or to a tilt threatening all the hard work we have put it and ruining everything we have built.

Very cool. Awesome metaphor for the challenges we all face each day.
Yes, it somehow came to me while sitting here in a bar tonight and absorbing all that ambient around me :)
When building with interchangeable parts, it is important to remember that we still have the parts. Perhaps one assembly failed but we can start over and reconstruct with what we have. The important personal factor, as you mentioned, is resolve.
Will we quit? No, so pick up the pieces and start building or be patient and wait for the folks that understand what you built to arrive.
Great pictures and post
Man you're really making me want that 55mm lens. Really nice chilled out images here, very cool!
In that case Sony should pay me i believe :) Having in mind the quality of your work it would a lot to your portfolio...
So good. Loved the way you explain the challenges faced by people each day.
there is a simple thought that take it or leave it.if you take it you can change & if you leave it you will be changed.
Or nothing will ever change if you leave it.
Yes so stick with the work do well .
We call these "Steinmännchen" (Stonepeople) in Switzerland.

Yes, it is very relaxing :)
I see a lot of these in mainland Europe, especially in Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary. I never see it in the UK :)
Thanks for the insightful metaphors and beautiful photographs. I can't wait to see your Masca photos.

Ifyou want to be happy than you have to make it by yourself ,nobody can stop you when you want to be happy.
