The Everglades National Park, Florida
I had the privilege of visiting the Everglades National Park, and see the magnitude of wildlife in Florida. Ranging from birds, fish, turtle and even alligators. There are also deer and panthers, but I did not get to capture them on photo.
alligators just prowl the waters there!
here is a map of the Everglades, in the top right corner is the Main Visitor Center (YOU ARE HERE). You the follow the red road by car all the way down to the Florida Bay, Flamingo Visitor Center. Along the drive there are many places to stop and walk, take beautiful pictures which I will now share.
a pool of water, probably full of alligators
and here it looks like grass land, but you cannot see there is swamp under the grass
when you look at this map, the everglades has shrunk significantly in the last 30 years! humans have built and settled all around wildlife and reduced the flow of the natural water
a view from a plane
the anhinga bird
an anhinga nest
you can tell the difference between alligators and crocodiles, because the alligator has a much wider snout
alligator gar fish
anhinga
the Florida chicken turtle
baby Great Blue Heron
the wooden walkways, one can really enjoy the quiet of nature
a hungry gator!
an anhinga
a fat gator, relaxing on a log, he looks like he just ate
unfortunately gators fight for dominance, and looks like this gator paid the ultimate price
a raised walkway over a lagoon
Great Blue Heron
this is not a view I would like to see in the water! scary alligator
anhinga
Pine warbler
Florida redbelly turtle
I hope you enjoyed the wild life pictures of the Florida Everglades National Park, best time to visit is during the everglades "dry season", December through April. The temperature is from 10-21 Celsius, and everything is open in the park.
Steem on and let's grow our community!
Excellent photo's. I am from Florida.. I live in Tampa Bay area, so I had to comment on your blog. We have lots of Gators here for sure.. You took some pictures of some really big ones . Florida Everglades has some of the biggest down there too. Also, down in that area are some of the biggest Pythons. To bad you didn't see any of those. Great blog.. Thanks for sharing.. followed and upvoted
Thank you for your wonderful comment. It truly is great fun to walk outside and see the wildlife first hand! It's always a surprise to what you will see.
That is so true, you just never know what you will see or even walk up on. I love the outside and wildlife. I just wish I could see it all in my life time..
Wow!!! Some really good wildlife shots. Pretty dangerous I must say. Ahahaha
Yes! no swimming in those waters... Thank you for the comment
I've always wanted to go there! Always settling for something else, but maybe next year I can actually get there. But I would also get to visit the Cape Canaveral Museums and Launchpads :D
